It’s another day and another patent infringement lawsuit. Actually this one is from back in January but CrackBerry reported today that it has moved on to the ITC for further investigation. The premise of this case is that Kodak sued Research in Motion and Apple for patents on image previewing and processing of images. Kodak took it to the ITC and they agreed to look into the issue further.

Personally, I feel like Kodak is being a “patent troll” by searching out any instances where they think they can milk some cash out of a lawsuit. If Kodak really wants to make money then they should do something truly innovative instead of trying to cash out on old technology. If image preview is the culprit here then there are way more wrongdoers here than just RIM and Apple. Regardless of my opinion Kodak is going to get the investigation that they were hoping for and from here on we’ll just have to see how this plays out.

Anyone else think these patent cases are getting a little ridiculous?
