At a press conference in Czech Republic, Microsoft Project Manager Petr Bobek confirmed that Microsoft plans on releasing iOS, Android versions of Office 2013 in March of next year.

An official press release confirms the availability for iOS and Android. “In addition to Windows, Office will be also available on other operating systems, Windows Phone, Windows RT, Mac OS, Android, iOS and Symbian,” says Microsoft. There has been a long-running rumor that Microsoft was working on an Office for iPad app, giving users access to Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc all on the go, but nothing was ever officially confirmed by Microsoft directly.

In addition, the press release also mentions that Office 2013 will be made available to businesses in December, with a consumer launch scheduled for the end of February 2013. “Office 365 services and other Office products for mobile (phones and tablets) will be released from March 2013,” says Microsoft.

Although there is no confirmation on retail availability of the anticipated new product, we are sure that shouldn’t be too far away either.
