Yesterday, Mobilicity announced that they had become the first Canadian Carrier to offer an upgrade to BlackBerry 6 for the BlackBerry smartphones in their lineup, the Bold 9700 and the Curve 3G (a.k.a. 9300), that do not ship with BlackBerry 6 already installed on the devices.

They have provided on their site (and linked below) a step-by-step guide for the installation of BlackBerry 6 using either a PC or a Mac.

The last upgrade on Mobilicity for the Bold 9700 was 5.0.0.680 and for the Curve 3G was 5.0.0.977. This upgrade takes both phones to 6.0.0.380. The Bold 9780 on Mobilicity is currently using 6.0.0.285.

It is great to see this upgrade finally making its way to Canadian shores and hopefully the other cellular carriers will follow suit shortly.
