RIM Officially Announces the Blackberry Curve 3G

Less than a week after being quietly launched ahead of schedule by Rogers, RIM has officially posted the Blackberry Curve 3G (9300) on their website.
The 9300 is essentially the little brother to the 9700, packing many of the same performance features minus the price.
Interestingly, RIM has also posted the device as “Blackberry 6 ready”, meaning that an update could be around the corner once the highly anticipated Torch 9800 officially hits the market.

We’ve received some pictures, via an anonymous tipster, of the upcoming BlackBerry 9670 clamshell. While it’s possibly the ugliest BlackBerry ever produced (and is likely not a production model) it still gives a clear view of the new OS that RIM is working on.
What do you think? It does look a little improved since the last time we looked at it. Not as heinous. But it also looks a bit like the Kin One that was released yesterday. Which isn’t a good thing.
The home screen looks quite similar to OS5, which isn’t surprising, but hopefully the upgrades are going to be more than skin deep.

I Dream of 6, The First Blackberry OS6 Inspired Theme Now Available

If not for the iPhone HD leak recently, the talk of the blogosphere would still be the ever-famous leaked images of what will be Blackberry OS6. Seeing the much needed changes gives us Blackberry enthusiasts hopes of greener pastures to come. Well, it didn’t take long for master logo creator Ryan Hamrick to give us a a little teaser of the yet to be released OS with a new theme inspired by the image above. The theme looks great and is available for Storm, Bold 9700, Tour and 8900 series devices and with the price of $4.99, it’s a steal. So pick it up and let us know what you think!

Boy Genius Report seems to have their hands in a lot of pots, but this one is a doozy! They have released pics and details of RIM’s new BlackBerry OS which they claim to be out, on the market, by June/July.
The screenshots look interesting, certainly more usable and touch-friendly than the current OS. It will be interesting to see how they translate the touch-enables features like gestures and press-and-hold on non-touch BB’s, but at this point, any information is good information.
Not a whole lot more to say here, so hit up BGR and enjoy the ride! Phew, what a couple of days, huh?
