BBLeaks has received word that Verizon Wireless, will be putting an End of Life (EOL) on the BlackBerry Curve 8530 and Storm2 9550 in preparation for replacement devices.

Here are the exact details:

BlackBerry Curve2 (8530):

The Curve2 is end of life – Final Shipments August
Refer to the “Stock Check” tool in POS for on hand availability
Device will retire on 8/1, replacement coming in Q3/Q4

BlackBerry Storm2 (9550):

The Storm2 is end of life – Final Shipments August
Refer to the “Stock Check” tool in POS for on hand availability
Device will retire on 8/15, replacement coming in Q3/Q4

The Curve 8530 will be replaced with the Curve 9330 aka Kepler aka Curve 3G, and the Storm 9550 will be replaced with what we only know as codename: Odin Refresh. It’s very possible the device will end up being labeled the Storm 3, but there are no solid details as of yet. What we do know, is the Odin Refresh will be RIM’s next touchscreen-only device and will be sporting BlackBerry 6, WebKit Browser, 512MB of RAM, up to 32GB SD card, 5MP Camera with new UI, World Edition, 802.11n WiFi and 3G Mobile Hotspot. Do you think we’ll see these new devices sooner than we originally thought?
