Verizon 4G SIM Leaks Out, Looks Like Your Momma’s 3G
The folks over at Engadget managed to get their paws on a Verizon-branded SIM card slated to enable devices to use their upcoming 4G LTE network. Just the thought of finally being able to swap a SIM between multiple devices instead of having to fuss with ESNs just tickles me to death. 4G-enabled devices won’t be a reality till late this year at the earliest, so for now, keep your panties on.

Froyo has officially hit the EVO 4G on Sprint (earlier than expected, no less!) and word has just reached us that the original Droid has started receiving the OTA update as well. Android is a phenomenon. We know this, I’ve talked about it before, but the proof is in the numbers. And Android is up over 886% since last Q2. It now owns 34% of the US smarthphone market, which isn’t a dent, since RIM only has 32%. And Apple at a staggering 21.7%. How terrible! But

As far as I can tell, this should apply to all Verizon LTE devices. When Verizon does finally roll out their 4G network, all 4G devices will require a 4G SIM card like this one and it should work exactly like SIM cards do in current GSM devices. When Verizon introduces global 4G phones they will likely pack radios to connect not only to Verizon's LTE network but probably also to enable connections with foreign GSM networks as well.
