Google: The Gift That Keeps On Giving. Navigation Comes To Canada (And Elsewhere)
Another awesome story this morning from the Google world, this time for more phones than just the Nexus One (and this one is an official update, unlike previous ones). Google has updated its Android Navigator software to be used in more countries around the world, including Canada and most of Western Europe.
Navigator has been a huge selling feature of Android, as it works with most devices 1.6 and up, and even has voice turning navigation. It’s quite reliable, and negates the need for a separate GPS, as long as you have a dock or safety harness in the car.
Check out more information at Google’s Mobile Blog, and a full list of countries after the break. Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and Switzerland.

Verizon’s Droid X Teaser Page Goes Live
about 2 days ago - View Comments
How sweet it is to be loved by Droid! Verizon seems to be pimping out their latest Android iteration to go head to head with both the iPhone 4 and the Sprint Evo 4G. With a 4.3″ WVGA display, 720p video recording, HDMI out, a front-facing camera for video conferencing, and a VERY fast OMAP
Video Overview: Rogers Acer Liquid E

The Acer Liquid E is a tough phone to classify: to look at it is to see a handsome, austere phone, all-black or white, with a sharp WVGA screen running the newest (available) Android OS. Its specs are high-end, even enviable, but it has a strange pedigree. It runs an underclocked Snapdragon processor, using only

HTC EVO 4G and HTC Droid Incredible Hit With Screen Issues
about 4 days ago - View Comments
While the HTC Incredible may be immune to the screen issues that affect the Nexus One, it looks like there is a new and potentially more annoying issue which affects not only the Incredible, but it’s new big brother, the HTC EVO 4G. The new problem has to do with faulty grounding in the screens of

Unreleased Samsung Galaxy S Already Has a QWERTY Cousin?

The picture above may or may not be real, but it goes without saying that a Galaxy S, with its 4″ AMOLED screen, 512MB RAM, blazing 1GHZ processor and custom TouchWIZ 3.0 UI on top of Android 2.1, is going to be a HOT seller when it is released later in the year. The Galaxy
Droid 2 and Droid X for Verizon to Take Android Speed Crown

Some lovely visions of the future from Motorola and Verizon are coming to the airwaves soon, if these commercial mockups are to be believed. Droid-Life has their paws on some scripts that prove the Droid 2 and Droid X are two different phones, with each aimed at a certain segment of the population: the Droid
AT&T HTC Aria Made Official, Not a Real Competitor To Incredible or EVO 4G
about 5 days ago - View Comments
AT&T, riding on its popular iPhone wave, has yet to truly adopt Android in any great fashion. They have released, and subsequently locked down, the Motorola Backflip, which had the added distinction of being the most inaccessible Android phone ever released. The option to install apps to “Unknown Sources,” meaning any apps from outside the
Video First Look: Kobo eReader Software for Android

The Kobo eReader, née Shortcovers, has positioned itself as the cheap alternative to the Kindle in the hardware category. Its $149 price tag is the lowest on the market, and its large store is highly competitive. It has partnered with Indigo in Canada, and Borders in the United States, and is a capable, if austere,
Virgin Mobile Officially Launches The HTC Legend

Kudos to Virgin Mobile for thinking ahead of their competition in Canada. Not only are they the first discount brand (Bell being their parent company) to launch an Android powered smartphone, but they did it with one sexy machine and are the first carrier in North America to have it. The Legend comes loaded with
Virgin Mobile Releasing HTC Legend June 11th, Android Fanboys Do A Little Dance

Canadians seem to be on a roll with good Android phone releases. Sure, the US has the HTC Incredible and EVO 4G, but they’re CDMA devices and thus not transferable to other networks. GSM versions of their cousins, the HTC Legend and Desire, are being released in Canada in the near future, to much fanfare.
Nexus One Adds 720p Video Recording Through Sheer Willpower

Well, good things come to those that wait! I haven’t been around the scene in the last few days, and look what I find? It’s not the Froyo source (where is it, Google!?) but it’s something almost as good. Considering the iPhone 4 was just annouced, and will bring with it 720p video recording. charnsingh_online
