iPad Hits Canada, Australia, Western Europe May 28th
We knew the iPad was coming “at the end of May,” but now we have an official date: May 28th, exactly three weeks from today.
Sure, if you were tenacious enough you could have already gone to the United States to purchase one, bring it back to your home country, exacto-knife a SIM into a MicroSIM and enjoy 3G connectivity through your own provider, but for the rest of the (sane) population, the official release is imminent.
We have yet to hear prices and data plans (Rogers, if you ask me to sign a contract for iPad data, I will delete you!) but I’m sure those are also forthcoming.
Canadian prices are as follows (we pay a $50 premium than Americans, even though our currency is par. FU NAFTA):
- iPad 16GB WiFi - $549
- iPad 32GB WiFi - $649
- iPad 64GB WiFi - $749
- iPad 16GB 3G - $679
- iPad 32GB 3G - $779

European prices have been released, and, as always, they’re getting jacked:
