Rogers Social View Plan Goes Live, Is Unlimited
Rogers is getting all the press today!
They have launched their Unlimited Social Addict Plan to go along with the four phones that support it.
- Sony Ericsson Xperia X10
- LG Eve
- Motorola QUENCH
- HTC Magic+
Essentially, what they’re doing is leveraging the existing platform (Android) and their skins (Sense UI on the Magic+, MOTOBLUR on the QUENCH, Timescape on the X10, S-Class on the Eve) and offering unlimited data usage between your phone and select social networking websites (Facebook, Twitter, etc) and unlimited texting, picture sharing, MMS, and Mobile Mail.
Rogers has been smart about this. The plan seems like they’re offering something new, but all they’re using is using Android’s built-in features, throwing in a couple plugs for Twitter and Facebook, and charging a bit less for it.
$50 is not a bad starting point for this plan, especially because they are now offering six months unlimited local calling with new activations as well as Evening and Weekend calls starting at 6PM.
