It’s been ready for a long while now. Even before the iPad was released the jailbreak application for it was pretty much ready and waiting. Now, all those that were waiting for the Spirit jailbreak to free their devices from Apples shackles can now dive right in. Spirit jailbreak has been released to the masses and is available for all iPad 3.2, and iPod touch and iPhone under 3.1.2 and 3.1.3 owners. Few things to note:

On iPad, all this is still sort of beta. Some packages in Cydia, not designed for iPad, might screw up your system and require you to restore. Be careful. (And no, Cydia’s appearance is not final.)

Also, keep in mind this is a jailbreak only solution. It is NOT an unlock method. So far, the responses on how well it works have been mixed so you may want to just sit back and see how it plays out for a few days (hours?) longer. Spirit Jailbreak is available for Windows and Mac users via the Spirit Jailbreak website, right now.

Head over to Redmond Pie to back up your SHSH blobs so you can downgrade to 3.1.3 when Apple inevitably patches this exploit in the coming days/weeks.
