Martin Cooper, inventor of the cell phone, interviewed by C-SPAN
Most of you probably don’t know who Martin Cooper is, but I’m positive he directly influences your life every single day. You see, Mr. Cooper is the inventor of the cell phone.
Now for the real question: What kind of phone does Martin Cooper carry? (OK, it’s actually two phones) According to a recent interview for C-SPAN, which can be found over at Engadget, Cooper recently moved from an iPhone to a Droid. Ok, that makes sense. Both are very impressive devices that a man of Cooper’s importance would carry. But I bet you can’t guess what his other phone is…
Give up? Martin Cooper, inventor of the cell phone (reiterated for emphasis), carries a Jitterbug. Yes, a Jitterbug. The phone designed for children. Young children. Pre-texting and Facebook age children.
In his defense, Cooper says he only uses it for when he just wants to make a phone call, which I understand. As much as I love the fact that I can reach (and be reached) via phone, SMS, MMS, email or Twitter anywhere on this planet (on 2 phones, nonetheless) there are time I miss the days when my phone performed one simple task flawlessly. Still, a Jitterbug?

Any of you guys wish you had a non-data, non-text, non-everything but voice capable phone?

Will fade away as the generation that used to Jitterbug passes. The world wants an everything device basically implanted into the brain. On day it will be a reality if we dont kill ourselves off first.

As the phone gets reinvented year after year offering more.
I don't see that being too far fetched
