Google to host Android event on July 24th
It’s been a while since Google’s really had an Android focused event and it feels even longer since it launched the Nexus 4 smartphone and the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablets. Media invitations have gone out for a breakfast event on July 24th and Google’s Android and Chrome honcho Sundar Pichai will be the ringmaster. No one knows for sure what’s in store but I am willing to be there will be some smartphone announcements, possibly Moto X or Nexus 5, as well as the refreshed Nexus 7. There should also be some news about the next version of Android on smartphones and possibly on tablets. The event is apparently going to be streamed live on YouTube as well, so we’re guessing it’s a pretty big deal.
