While the words “iPhone” and “budget” don’t seem to fit together in most people’s minds, various analysts and pundits are saying that a cheaper iPhone is what Apple needs to combat the Android horde, specially in emerging markets where it is considered a premium (i.e. unaffordable) luxury item. Apple has never been the company to offer cheaper versions of the iPhone, it has continued to sell two-year old models at a reduced price, but maybe Dylan’s right and the times they are a-changing.
