This contest was a doozie. Not only did it mark the first time I didn’t set an end date, but it was also the 3800th post (so I had to make it special). Low and behold, the winner of the brand new in box BlackBerry Q10 is:

This post not only marks another big contest for the site, but something very momental: it’s post number 3800 on TheCellularGuru.com. Yes, you read that right, 3800. Three years, countless conferences, and numerous long nights of writing, we are still here standing, thanking you all for your love, support, and drive to keep us doing what we love. So from the bottom of our Guru hearts, thank you for helping us reach this milestone! We couldn’t have done it without you!

Anyway, without further adieu: the contest.

Well, 3800, that is a milestone. In the years I have been following tech sites, using the latest phones and reading everything that I can to stay up to date, the most exciting and heart jumping news has been about BlackBerry. The rise of the texting machine, push emails, immediacy. The intro to colour screens, enticing the consumer demographic to making us all "addicted to the berry". I have held or owned most of, if not all of the iterations of the Berry. The advent of OS10 has been nothing short of a miracle for this Waterloo based company. If it didn't sound so corny, Phoenix would have been an apt name for OS10. So, to deserve something is subjective, which will always be biased coming from the person who feels deserving. I just really, really would love to have the Q10. If I am not one of the lucky ones to win one, I will definitely be one of the ones to get one on my upgrade. Either way, this is a momentous road BlackBerry is on and I am riding it all the way with them. That's all

BlackBerry Poem: an Ode to the Q10.

When I was younger in high school. A BlackBerry you needed to look cool. Though more than a decade has gone by, The devices have managed to stay spry.

Some doubted the company's prowess, But BlackBerry 10 revived their status. Now the Z10 and Q10 are selling, And the reason I want one I'm telling.

It's for my mom, a longtime BlackBerry user, She loves QWERTY keyboards because they don't confuse her. It's her birthday next month and she deserves one, So she can share the BlackBerry love with everyone.

Congratulations on the 3800th post. 38 is my lucky number...it has good meaning in Chinese, so hopefully with the 3800th post, it will bring me luck to win this cool phone! The Blackberry Q10 is a captivating phone. I'm a slow typer, not good at touchscreen typing. The QWERTY keyboard on this phone is perfect for me! I'm also in love with the 3.1-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and 16GB of internal storage. With photos, music and apps, having a large enough internal storage is important. I like taking photos of cute and fun things so the 8-megapixel rear camera is another favourite feature! I've never operated a Blackberry before and it would be such an honour to have this phone for the first time, especially from Cellular Guru!

OOOh snap! I wish I had this last week when my mom was abducted by an alien space ship from mars...I could have caught the whole thing on video and proved to the world that we are not alone, is there anything a blackberry can't do! If I win this then I will totally use it to record a video of them when they come back for my little sister ;).

While I'd like to win the Samsung for my mom, I'd love to win this on for myself. Fortunately (or unfortunately) I'd love to use this little piece of heaven for my work phone- which would be awesome because of the old piece of crap I'm currently using has tape on it - tape. Yep. It would help my work immensely - keeping track of my counselling sessions with my you clients, emailing my manager, forwarding notes to my work computer- genius.

I want to win a new phone for my brother's birthday...his LG doesn't have WiFi capabilities. I thought he just didn't know how to turn it on, but it just doesn't have WiFi? It looks like a smartphone, sounds like a smartphone, but is definitely NOT a smartphone.

Q10 is the ultimate superphone.

Having been a longtime Blackberry user, I remained faithful, hopeful and loyal while everyone was jumping to iPhone and Android and had nothing good to say about the Blackberry.

I felt like I was always defending the underdog and making lists of the BBOS features that the other companies were late to adopt (if at all). I resisted the iSheep and Android bandwagon.

We had already waited a very long time for the new OS, but a year ago I saw something coming out of Waterloo that made me realize RIM was not only going to survive, but change the face of mobile computing. I knew it. It was going to work, and they weren't going to miss the mark anymore. I told all my iPhone and Android friends to buy stock, they laughed in my face.

They said Blackberry was going to die They said BB10 was too little, too late. They said Blackberry should use the Android OS instead (what?) They said there was nothing remarkable about BB10. They said BB10 was vapourware. They said it was a non-starter because there was no "home" button. They said nobody would buy an all-touch Blackberry. They said that developers would never make apps for BB10. They said it would be Dead On Arrival.

But information alone will not convince them.

With a Q10 in my hand, they will see the Q10 in action; a phone unparalleled, with a perfect keyboard, and UI. With nearly double the battery life of all the others they need to see me go throughout the day without my phone dying, like their always do. The need to hear the call quality. They need to see the speed. The browser, the HUB, Balance, etc. In short, they need to experience the Blackberry Experience. They need to know that it is the next phone they will buy.

And they will.

I am itching to type on the Q10's physical keyboard!! Legit my hand has been twitching for it since Launch in Jan haha. I've been promoting BlackBerry 10 since launch!! Missing that classic BlackBerry look and feel that the Z10 doesn't have... & with that battery life the Q10 is sure to be a winner!

Wow, 3800? Congrats of course. I don't really know if I deserve to win but I'll say why I'd like to win.

I've been straddled to Sprint for just about 14 years & their service has progressively gotten worse over the years. I merely stuck with them for the grandfathered services I was originally issued but that too is all going away pretty much. They eliminated extra benefits to tenured account holders that have lessened any real reason on sticking with them. The reception for me, across many phones, has been spotty & was never really clear to begin with.

I have more reasons why I despise Sprint's service but the nail in the coffin was not carrying the Z10. I prefer to be given a choice of what device I'd like to use & not what Sprint would like to shove down my throat. For this, I will be terminating my account with them when my contract is up on the 20th of August & taking my "talents to T-Mobile" where I am being given a choice on the new BB10 devices & will be definitely choose the Q10. Winning this contest makes the transition that much more simpler for me. Heck, if I won the contest, I'd be able to cancel my Sprint account right now. Let's make it happen. :D

Let me just say that I have known Corey Herscu for many years. Long before he started this fabulous company as "the" guru. Congratulations Corey on your success! I am a product of his knowledge and assistance - I would never have learned how to use my blackberry if it wasn't for Corey and I continue to rely on his advice. Why do I deserve to win? Well, I too am a dedicated business owner and my blackberry is broken :( - the Blackberry Q10 is just what I need to thrive in my business. It is my lifeline! So here is my ode to BB and the Guru..

Blackberry rules, it's the. Love of my life. A new one would only make everything right. Corey, guru, Know what I mean? Because you usually hear me complain. Eric, Corey I think I deserve it. Really depressing, my phone just won't cut it! Rogers agree but they will do nothing. You are the ones, I believe can do something!

I wan't lie, I'm a technie nerd, and having brought the Z10, I'm living it, but there is someting messing with the Z10... I'm missing the powerful QWERTY keyboard. The Z10 is great, but in 3 months I had had it, my typing is not improved on a touch screen. Even with the flickr keyboard, I m still making mastakes and still taking FOREver to type. So the premise of having the Q10 is for the QWERTY keyboard.

(I won't lie, I'm a techie nerd, and having bought the Z10, I'm loving it, but there is something missing with the Z10... I'm missing the powerful QWERTY keyboard. The Z10 is great, but in the 3 months I have had it, my typing has not improved on a touch screen. Even with the flick keyboard, I am still making mistakes and still taking forever to type. So the premise of having the Q10 is for the QWERTY keyboard... The cleaned up version). Congrats on the 3800th posting Corey and gang. I have gone back and read about 3/4 of all the articles now.

Well, I won't say I am more deserving to win over others, because I am sure everyone has great reasons on why they should be chosen. I will tell you why I would like to win :)

I would like to win this phone for my husband. He always makes sure everyone else is taken care of, has the the things we need/want, and puts himself last. He needs a new phone, and this is the phone he wants. I would love to be able to get it for him, but unfortunately I can't afford to buy it for him and he isn't eligible to upgrade his phone any time soon. This would be a fantastic surprise for him!

3800 posts means a lot of news shared and a lot of phones reviewed. That's mean when your review says the q10 is "perfect"; "best blackberry ever made"; "better than the z10" means a lot. This would be my first blackberry and would like to be on the ground floor of the rebirth of the OS and company.

The phone's not for me — it's actually for a friend who has a Note 2 and can't seem to get the hang of the touch screen elements and the Android operating system. She's a long-time BlackBerry user and misses her QWERTY keypad. I'm entering to try and make her life about a gazillion times easier, because no matter how good the phone, no one should have to suffer if they can't make the phone do what they want.

I would like to win because 1. our work will be moving to a bring your own device setup and my current BB is on it's last legs and 2. the aforementioned BB was accidentally dropped in the toilet bowl (probably why it's on its last legs now). The water and bowl was clean but there's still a huge EWWWW factor attached to it. So for that reason I really need a new phone.
