Review: The 2013 Honda Accord

Before I go on, explaining in depth why I absolutely love where Honda went with the design and performance of the 2013 Honda Accord, I want to offer them a knuckle-tap for a job well done.
To say I have an illustrious history with the Accord line from Honda is a definite understatement. The ’89 model was the first car I bought as a precocious 18 year old, and the 2001 model was the last car I owned (having just sold it literally yesterday). Needless to say, even talking about it right now brings back great memories of past. So when Honda approached me to review the 2013, totally redesigned, Honda Accord sedan and coupe, I was over-the-moon and ready to dive right in.
Read on for my thoughts.
The Design:
You can tell that Honda didn’t hold back on the design of this car. 9 generations later, through ups and downs, Honda has redeemed themselves as a car brand worthy of your dollars and time. Despite being about 3.5-inches shorter than its predecessor, the 2012 Accord, Honda has packaged the 2013 in such a way that it even looks larger and roomier. This especially goes for the trunk, which has been increased by just over one cubic foot.
Performance:
Both cars I drove were powered by Honda’s well-known V6 engine. So although I cannot actually comment on the 2.4-litre V4, I will talk about my experience with the 3.5-liter, 278 horsepower latter engine.
To put it in a nutshell, the engine just purred. The powerful V6 took off with ease, with a small press on the gas pedal, and the VCM (Variable Cylinder Management) system ensured that the ride was as smooth as possible.
Overall
Honda, with the 2013 Accord Coupe and Sedan, has redeemed itself as an affordable option for young professionals looking for long-lasting, sporty ride at just 26k.
