RIM to take on Skype and FaceTime with BBM Video?

CrackBerry has discovered evidence that RIM may be planning a video chat feature for BlackBerry 10 called “BBM Video” that would rival Microsoft’s Skype and Apple’s FaceTime.
When browsing through notification sounds in the latest BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha software, CrackBerry’s Adam Zeis discovered a folder called “bbm_video” which contains a “video_chat.m4a” file. Not a confirmation by any means, but rumours of a BBM Video feature have been circulating for a while. BBM 7.0 was recently released with a new “BBM Voice” feature that allows users to make free voice calls via. WiFi, so video calling seems like a logical next step.
If BBM Video is actually on its way, we will likely hear more at RIM’s January 30th BlackBerry 10 launch event.
