Hailo and Molson team up for the holidays

Since they launched, Hailo has been a disruptive force in the crazy industry that is Toronto cab service. Since our review, they’ve realized great success on iOS and Android (30k plus downloads) and are projecting to launch on BlackBerry 10 and Windows Phone in the new year. In essence Hailo gives users the opportunity to hail down the nearest cab via a 2-click process on your device. The closest cab driver then calls and picks you up (you’re then billed via the app with the debit or credit card you registered with). It’s a simple and seamless process, but there’s also strong competition on the road from rival Uber.
Until now.
To kick-off the holiday season, Hailo has struck up a partnership with Molson Coors to promote a safe holiday season by giving away $1 million worth of free cab rides. Beginning today, and running until New Year’s Eve, about 100 bars and restaurants will be given $10 vouchers that customers can redeem. Hailo stated in an email to us that “Users’ enter the holiday discount code and a ten dollar credit is applied to their account. This credit will then be used towards their next Hailo ride and show up on their email receipt.”

The Ballroom, Boston Pizza, Club V, Crocodile Rock, Fox & Fiddle, Fox & Firkin, Friar & Firkin, Hoops, Jack Astor’s, Pheasant & Firkin, Real Sports, Tortilla Flats and Upfront Bar & Grill.
