Report: Apple to begin production of the iPhone 5S as early as December

Talk about cannibalizing your clientele. According to a Chinese Times report, Apple is expected to begin trial production of a new version of its iPhone 5, or the 5S, in December with initial production volumes likely to top 50,000-100,000 units.
According to the report: “Facing low yield rates in the production of iPhone 5, Apple has accelerated the certification processes for related parts and components for the iPhone 5S”.
If this rumor proves true, I think it’s a bit ridiculous. The allure of iPhone (and essentially any Apple product) has, and always will be, that Apple launches 1 major product a year from each respective line. With the iPad 4 launching just 6 months after the iPad 3 (or new iPad), if Apple drops an iPhone 5S less than 6 months after launching the 5, they’re going to have a lot of very upset customers. Again, this is ALL speculation, but what’s a Monday morning for? Right?
