We’ve got some good news and some bad news to end this lovely Friday afternoon for all you Xperia owners. The good: Sony has announced that ALL 2012 Xperia devices including the Xperia S, Xperia acro S, Xperia ion (pictured above), Xperia P, Xperia go, Xperia J, and of course the upcoming Xperia T, Xperia TX, and Xperia V are scheduled to get Android 4.1 (JellyBean) as early as Q1′ 2013.

Of course this doesn’t discount the Android 4.0 update currently available for most - if not all - of the 2012 models currently in market.

Now for the bad news: while many of the 2011 line-up of Xperia devices have received Android 4.0 love, sadly Sony has announced that they will not be updated further. Sony will, however, continue to maintain the aforementioned devices via firmware maintenance releases.

As for actual roll-out dates of JellyBean, it always varies by market (and carrier) so stay tuned for more updates!
