In case you thought that Apple had gone and created their own mapping database for iOS, think again. Today, well-known GPS provider TomTom confirmed that they have indeed licensed their service out to Apple.

Pricing, structure and other fine print are unknown, but this answers some of the questions which arose after the keynote yesterday during WWDC.
