Review: Sena Cases “Hampton Flip” for the iPhone 4S

How many accessory reviews for one specific product can I do before I’m totally blue in the face? I guess you’re about to find out, because this is the first in a series of reviews (and of course giveaways) coming on the Sena line of cases. Over the last few weeks I’ve had the chance to review a few of their iPhone 4S series cases, as well as one of their “Ultra-Slim” cases for the BlackBerry 9790 and can’t wait to share my notoriously un-bias thoughts.
So read on friends, you just might learn something.
Recently the unthinkable happened: I moved to the city and ditched my car in favor of a metro pass.
Being a commuter the one thing I despise more than anything is carrying bulk; including - but not limited to - my wallet, opting to carry a card holder and just cash in my pocket instead (everything works well that way). But now with a metro pass, things have started to get rather irritating. I find/found myself going into my pocket, begrudgingly, far too often. This lead me to realize that I needed to find something that would make my card more accessible and convenient.
May I introduce you to the Hampton “Flip” by Sena Cases.
Now before you start pre-judging the flap, let me admit 100% that until I gave it a chance, I found it annoying and intrusive as well. So, while I agree to some extent, the benefits of the flap completely outweigh the cons from my point of view. When push comes to shove, my phone is my most used possession and is ALWAYS in my hand. Why not use a case that protects the gorgeous retina, holds my card(s) and looks stylish at the same time? I rest my point.
Then we get into the cost, riiiiight, THAT conversation.
In my opinion (and how I was raised), you can’t put a price tag on quality - especially when you are spending upwards of $800 on the device it’s protecting. You can buy something cheap - and fake - online for more than a fraction of the price, then get annoyed when the seams start to break, case cracks, or it just starts to fall apart in your hands before you even had the chance to actually use it. OR, you can make the one time investment into a higher-end product like a Sena case and get something genuine, handcrafted, and quite frankly never have to worry about it again. Again, I rest my point.
The Hampton Flip for the iPhone 4S from Sena cases earns a solid 8.5/10 from me and can be picked up for $59.95 via Sena’s online store here.
