This is still just a rumor so don’t go to crazy, but The Wall Street Journal reports that Google has reached out to venture capital firms to investigate the possibility of acquiring fellow search giant Yahoo.

Google and their shareholders have held meetings to discuss their options, but have not officially submitted an offer. Microsoft and others have also expressed interest in purchasing Yahoo.

As mentioned, this is just a rumor. Let’s see what happens on Monday.
