Better than expected results for Nokia in Q3

Even though their numbers aren’t even close to Apple or Microsoft, this is still better then expected news coming out of Finland.
Nokia just posted their Q3 results and they are much better than anticipated, mainly thanks to mobile device shipments. Nokia shipped 89.9 million “feature phones” in Q3; analysts only expected around 67 million. In all, Nokia mobile device shipments grew 20% to a total of 106.6 million. This could be due to the fact that the average selling price for the devices was down 18%. A big improvement is net loss; Nokia only lost €68 million ($93 million), while the estimated loss was €229 million($319 million). Revenue for the Mobile division was better than expected as it came in at €5.39 billion ($7.5 billion) compared to expectations of €5.06 billion ($7 billion).
The bad news: total revenue dipped 13% to €8.98 billion ($12.5 billion), but still beat estimates of €8.66 billion ($12 billion).
