RIM to announce BlackBerry 9980 “Knight” October 27th

[Editor's Note: I'm a BlackBerry Puritan, so I have a soft spot for any BlackBerry in the "traditional" design, but this device, in my opinion, falls squarely in the "collector's item" bracket. While it's a neat concept, and awesome to see RIM doing a collaborative work like this, that device is, for want of a better word, fugly]
Remember that bizarre looking BlackBerry that was exposed on the web a while back? Well world on the street has it that the device is real and is getting a whole event dedicated to it. The supposed name is the 9980 Knight and on October 27th in Dubai it will be officially announced by RIM. From the sounds of it Porsche helped out in the design of the device and it will be sold exclusively at Porsche retail stores.
