Microsoft just announced numbers for its fiscal Q1 2012 earnings and it turned out to be the best first-quarter ever for the company. Revenue for the quarter was $17.37 billion (up 7%) from last year and was above analyst estimates of $17.26 billion. Operating income was $7.2 billion (up 1%) and net income was $5.75 billion which equals $0.68 a share (up 6%).
