Mike Lazaridis announces BBX OS at Devcon

BlackBerry’s Devcon conference is well underway right now in San Francisco, California and RIM has wasted no time getting right down to the nitty-gritty announcements. While on stage for his keynote RIM co-CEO Mike Lazaridis made the very subtle statement “Today I’m pleased to announce our next generation platform, BBX” - thus, finally confirming the recent rumors. If you are unsure of what BBX is, it’s a mobile version of RIM’s QNX OS (as seen in the PlayBook tablet), one that will be able to be used on their mobile devices and have the ability to run Android applications.
More to come, stay tuned.
