Christmas has come early for WIND Mobile subscribers

WIND Mobile is in the giving spirit with some big news coming out of WIND Mobile HQ. Not only have they expanded service to St.Catharines and Welland, but they also have a huge line-up of new devices set to launch in the coming months. Up first is the new Bold 9900 which will be available at all WIND Mobile locations for $169 on WINDtab+ with no term-contract. On the horizon are the BlackBerry Curve 9360, Torch 9810, Nokia 500, Huawei U8350 and U2801 and others that we spoke about last week.
The Bold 9900 is the first Bold to offer a touchscreen along with a full-QWERTY keypad. The Bold 9900 has a 1.2GHz Qualcomm 8655 processor, 2.8″ touchscreen, the ever-famous optical trackpad, 8GB of internal storage along with support microSD cards up to 32GB, 768MB of RAM, Wi-Fi, 5MP camera around back with LED flash which allows you to record in 720p and a 1230 mAh battery that gives you 5-6hrs of talk time.
The BlackBerry Torch 9810, running OS 7 is like the original Torch, which pairs physical keypad with touchscreen. The new Torch 9810 has a 3.2″ screen, QWERTY keyboard with optical trackpad, 1.2GHz processor, 8GB of internal storage along with support for microSD cards up to 32GB, 768MB of RAM, Wi-Fi, 5MP camera around back with LED flash which allows you to record in 720p and a 1270 mAh battery which gives you 5-6hrs of talk time.
The Curve 9360, running OS 7 has a new super-slim contoured design has 2.44″ screen, 512MB of RAM,supports up to 32GB mircoSD cards 5MP camera around back, 1000 mAh battery which gives you 5hrs of talk time and Wi-Fi.
The Nokia 500 is a decent entry level device running Symbian Anna. The Nokia 500 has changeable covers in black, orange and purple and has a 3.2″ touchsreen, 1GHz processor, 2GB of internal storage, supports up to 32GB microSD cards, 1110 mAh battery which gives you 5hrs of talk time and Wi-Fi
The Huawei U8350 runs Android 2.2(froyo) and takes after the Bold 9900 design by offering a QWERTY keypad along with a 2.6″ capacitive touchscreen. It comes with 256MB of RAM, a 538MHz Qualcomm MSM7225 processor, Wi-Fi, supports up to 32GB microSD cards and has a 1200 mAh battery and a 3.2MP camera around back. While the U2801 is your basic entry level “bar style” phone that is set to replace the U1250.
As mentioned coverage has expanded to St.Catharines and Welland with coverage of the entire Niagara region planned to launch in the near future.
