This is very cool (maybe just for me, there are a lot of dog lovers in my family) but Fido is putting out a casting call for their next Barksperson. Over a series of 6 open auditions across Canada, in Vancouver, Calgary, Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto and Montreal, one lucky pooch will be chosen as the next face of the wireless carrier. Casting sheets will be posted up on the Fido Casting Call site, and voting will begin, culminating in a winner on the 17th of November.

The prize for the winner is pretty sweet, with both the dog and their owner getting flown to Montreal for a “VIP puppy pamper experience”, including:

-VIP spa treatment for the Winning Dog;

· Professional photo shoot for the Winning Dog;

· An LG Optimus 2X Fido phone for the Winning Dog’s owner;

- Air travel and/or limousine service to the VIP photo shoot;

· Hotel accommodations;

· $500 spending money;

· Dog collar with a personalized 2011 Fido Casting Call winner’s medal; and,

· A Fido ad displayed in public featuring the Winning Dog.

Oh, and if that wasn’t enough to get you to wrestle your dog into a bath, there is also a philanthropic angle, with up to $200,000 being donated to the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides.
