Balsillie, Lazaridis make Canada’s “Rich 100 list”

This past year has been a torrid one for the billionaire buddies out of Waterloo; falling stock prices, lost market share and most of all, the one that hurts the most, the brand that they have built from scratch is losing its dominance in the smartphone world. But, like all CEO’s (Co in this instance), they have kept their heads high, shown poise in the face of adversity, and engaged the “never back down mentality” - again, a quality possessed only by the strongest of leaders.
Every year Canadian Business releases their “Rich 100 list”, which chronicles the most successful businessmen in our country; the “move-makers” if you will. And every year, the boys from Waterloo are somewhere in the midst of it, flexing their ever so prominent muscles. Well, this year’s list is up, and despite being down 8.7% from last year, their combined wealth still remains a staggering $21.34 billion - wow.
In total, 62 Canadians made the list; Mike being number 51 and Jim close by at 56. Not too shabby, eh? These figures still prove that our next Timmies coffee can be on them - being the case, I’ll take a double-double, please.
