LG Optimus LTE launched in Korea, first 4G HD smartphone in that market
While we may not have any LTE equipped smartphones to take advantage of the newly-turned-on networks here in Canada, Korea is getting a new device capable of handling the technology, announced today. The LG Optimus LTE marks the first smartphone to be available in the Korean market capable of 4G speeds and HD display.
For those keeping track of these things, the LG Optimus LTE sports a 1.5 Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 4.5″ HD display. Powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the device also packs an 1830 mAh battery, which will hopefully be large enough to stand up to LTE’s power sucking speeds. Availability outside the Korean market isn’t known at this time, but given the number of carriers adding LTE coverage, it’s likely only a matter of time.
