Earlier this year, WIND Mobile ran a contest, dubbed “Best Conversation Ever”, for five lucky Canadians to be able to talk with their heroes and idols. Over 2500 entries were submitted and judged by WIND reps and industry leading bloggers, resulting in the choosing of 5 lucky people. One of these was Calgary’s April Young, who pledged 50 cents for every vote she received to the Michael J Fox Foundation if she won.

Today, April got a chance to talk to the Canadian icon, who she has idolized for years since reading his book “Lucky Man”. Michael J Fox took the time out of his schedule to talk to April, making her dream conversation come true, and raising $100000 for Parkinson’s research as part of the WIND contest. Other notables chosen for a “dream conversation” were idols such as Sidney Crosby and director Christopher Nolan.

With a huge amount of money donated to charities by WIND, and five Canadians that will have an experience to remember for the rest of their lives, it’s clear that the contest was a smashing success. Kudos to WIND for the philanthropic drive, and to April, I’m envious.
