Rogers to launch LTE equipped Samsung Galaxy S II

So it always goes, when Rogers announces one new thing, they tend to announce a string of new additions to their family -ones often hidden up their big red sleeve for many months prior - and today is no exception. This morning via press release Rogers finally announced what everyone has been expecting/anticipating: LTE in Toronto coming Sept 28th - although that isn’t the point of this post. The real juice to this story is the device that Rogers announced in the press release: the Samsung Galaxy S II - easily the sexiest Android phone to hit our soil and one many a Rogers customer were vying for when it initially launched earlier this summer exclusively with Bell and also one that I have yet to read a bad review on.
Here is the official announcement:
“Customers in Toronto and Ottawa can be among the first in the world to experience LTE wireless devices when the company continues to roll out its LTE product line this fall. It includes: the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE Smartphone; the LTE Rocket mobile hotspot (Sierra Wireless AirCard 754S); Rogers LTE Rocket stick (now available in Ottawa); LTE Tablet from a leading manufacturer; and the previously announced HTC Smartphone.”
Although no official pricing or release date are yet known, this does give hope to those in dire need of a new Android device but don’t want to pay the exorbitant fees associated with outright purchasing and unlocking. More to come on this one.
