RIM finally announces its new Curve lineup with the 9360, 9350, and 9370

After months of teaser photos surfacing around the web, and recent leaks from carriers about release dates, RIM has finally announced the neest generation of the Curve family with the 9350, 9360, and 9370. Those of us in Canada get the jump on other countries yet again, with Canadian carriers being first out iof the gate to release the new devices, and other countries following suit shortly thereafter.
A hefty hardware upgrade over the previous generations, coupled with the new BlackBerry 7 OS, makes these devices more than just a refresh of the same old Curve. Sporting a 5MP camera, 800Mhz processor, wifi, and a significant upgrade to the display resolution, this new iteration is intended to remain as RIM’s “base model” device, providing an “affordable, easy-to-use, full-featured and socially-connected smartphone.”
Rumors of late peg the retail price of the devices at around $300, making them a decently affordable upgrade for those looking to pick one up with signing a new contract, relative to the cost of some of the other devices recently launched by RIM.
