Despite very quiet European launch, HP still has no confirmed US launch date for the Pre3

Despite its fledgling hardware, I have never been one to shy away from a fight when it comes to backing my beloved webOS. That being said, getting a new device on time would be nice for a change, seeing as It wasn’t long ago that HP CEO Leo Apotheker stated confidently that “new webOS products would ship within weeks”. Now fast forward 6 months and you guessed it - no Pre 3. Well, as luck would have it HP very silently released the Pre 3 in Germany last night for €349 ($500US), as well as an unlocked version for £299.00 ($493) from HP’s European website - alas, still no love for the US and A. So, PreCentral decided to do some digging and received the following statement direct from HP themselves:
“HP is excited to begin its regional rollout of the Pre3, the only phone today that offers users a slide-out keyboard coupled with a large touchscreen and the fastest speed (1.4GHz processor – the fastest on the market). We expect to share additional information for U.S. customers soon.”
And there ya have it….nothing. Let’s hope that HP can deliver on a “soon” this time, while us fan-boys still care.
