Telus bows to the same pressure as Rogers, drops pricing on new BlackBerry line
When Rogers first announced the new lineup of BlackBerry smartphones, they were slammed for their pricing. To be honest, they had the new devices priced so high that even a 3-year contract wasn’t appealing. Shortly thereafter, Rogers bowed to consumer pressure, or finally got their heads pulled out of a certain dark place, and adjusted their pricing to be more in line with the rest of their catalogue. Telus has been a little bit more of a slow learner, with their prices for a new Bold 9900 (3 year contract) at $320 as late as yesterday. Thankfully for those loyal to Telus and jonesing for a new BlackBerry, the light has finally dawned on them, and new prices are being shown on the Telus website. In the case of the 9900, they have even undercut Rogers by $50, showing that while they may be the slow kid in the class, they at least make up for it by being competitive in the end.
