Winner Announced:

First and foremost, I want to apologize for this delayed announcement as I was bed ridden most of yesterday with a terrible migraine. Anyway, I am back now and have scoured through the responses. Though a very difficult choice, the winner of a “Strength” series Otterbox case is “Roy Whitney” or @GrumpyButtFunny on Twitter! Please email contact at thecellularguru dot com with your info and device so we can get you your prize! Thanks to all who entered!

Last year I wrote a long, heart-felt post about the struggles my family has had in the past with Cancer and how I have dedicated my life to doing what ever I can to support the cause. Around the same time last year Otterbox launched an extremely successful line of pink commuter cases for a select few devices which were appropriately titled “Strength”, and donated proceeds ($175,000) from sales to the Avon Breast Cancer crusade.

Well, the year has rolled around again and Otterbox has renewed its commitment with new pink-and-white case options to benefit the cause. Whether you’re an Apple enthusiast, Android addicts or BlackBerry fan-girl, you can now show you support (and style) with the “Strength” Commuter Series cases for the Apple iPhone 4 and HTC EVO 3D or Blackberry Torch 9810 and 9800 series smartphones, available soon.

As a follow-up to last years post, I can also proudly say that TheCellularGuru.com has renewed its support to the cause as well, and is proud to contest off one of each case to anyone in Canada or the United States - read below to find out how you can win one!

1. Leave a comment on this post briefly stating how cancer has effected your, a loved ones, or a friends life. Also, let us know which device you’ll need the case for, obviously.

2. Follow TheCellularGuru on Twitter and like us on Facebook.

3. Follow Otterbox on Twitter

Contest ends Sunday night Aug 21st at 11:59 PDT, with the winner being announced and contacted Monday afternoon. Good luck to all who enter!

I’ve come to know a handful of people that have been affected by cancer. I’ve seen the way It affects people and brings families together (thankfully no everyone I know has been cured). My aunt is the closet person to me that has been diagnosed with breast cancer- thankfully they caught it really early. She has and always will be the strongest woman I know (apart from my mom). She simply said “it is what it is and I’ll do what I have to do to get rid of it.” She never shows it when she’s in pain or when it brings her down: she defines Strength.

My grandmother died of cancer last year… She was pretty much like my second mom and I talked to her all the time! It really affected my mom because she had already lost her dad but she moved on and we moved 700 miles to get away from it all… Also my best friends sister died of cancer at only 15 years old, he got so depressed that he went to the hospital for a week. She battled cancer for two years and it spread until she was on a life line machine :( well I guess thats it, and I have an iPhone 4

I AM PROUD TO BE A BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR, 14 YEARS AND STILL GOING STRONG. ON BOTH SIDES OF THE FAMILY, MINE AND MY HUSBAND’S, CANCER HAS TAKEN A FEW LIVES. MY HUSBAND ALMOST LOST HIS LIFE DUE TO PNEUMONIA. HE WAS A SMOKER FOR MANY, MANY YEARS, WITH A COLLAPSED LUNG. LUCKLY, NOTHING ELSE SINISTER WAS FOUND FOR WHICH WE ARE NOW GREATFUL. HE WAS SICK FOR MNY MONTHS, MEDICINES AND UNEMPLOYMENT, BUT HE FOUGHT AND HE IS HERE, AND THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS. SINCE I AM NEW AT THIS, I AM NOT SURE WHICH ONE.

Thanks cellguru this is a great prize and a fantastic cause! Also a special thanks to @otterbox for their continued support in fighting this terrible disease! Winning a prize is fantastic but the real prize is when a cure for all cancers is found! Keep up the fight, believe and it will happen! Thanks again!
