Jeff Bezos might be a good CEO, but an inventor? Not so much. You see, it surfaced today that Bezos and Amazon VP Greg Heart were listed on an patent application as the inventors of an airbag system for cell phones. How does it work? According to the paperwork, the phone, sensing a fall, would shoot out jets of air that would lessen the force of impact by flipping the phone onto its side where airbags would deploy. A bit too wacky for your tastes? That’s okay, because the patent also floats about the idea of replacing the jets with springs. Yeah. We know.
