In yet another departure from tradition, Apple today released iOS 5 beta 5. Available only to registered iOS developers, the update is compatible with the iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and the 3rd- and 4th-gen iPod touch. The option to download the update OTA is there for those currently running beta 3 and later, but only on the condition that all settings and content be wiped from the device before beginning the download. iTunes 10.5 beta 5 and Apple TV Software beta 4 were also released.
