Windows Phone 7 “Mango” Update Ready for Release

Come hither all ye Windows Phone 7 faithful as there is good news to share: “Mango”, the latest - and highly anticipated - update for the Windows Phone 7 platform has finally reached the “release to manufacturing stage” (RTM for short). Which means by this fall, Microsoft’s mobile OS will available on handsets worldwide.
The RTM stage essentially means that the OS has left the hands of the internal development team and is now entrusted to the hands of handset manufacturers and mobile operators, who will have the chance to optimize the OS for release on their devices.
Microsoft Windows Phone chief Terry Myerson had this to say:
“The Mango update for current Windows Phone handsets will be ready this fall, and of course will come pre-installed on new Windows Phones.”
The Mango update, which was announced in May, is said to bring forth numerous updates which were both in demand and lacking from the originally released OS last year, such as: multi-tasking, improved communication and better internet browsing. Although we haven’t had a hands-on with the new OS, we look forward to giving you a solid review as soon as devices are available.
Stay tuned.
