There is a very well known saying that comes to mind when it comes to inventions like this and it’s simply “Boys and their toys”. The above mixes our boyhood joys with our adult impulses by connecting a fully-functional R/C car with your precious Android powered smartphone via Bluetooth connection. And guess what? You have choices for driving the car too! You can either set the specially designed app to utilize the phone’s accelerometer for steering or - for those less OCD about their screen’s cleanliness - turn the touchscreen on your device into a full-fledged control panel, equipped with a steering wheel and buttons to steer the car in place of a remote (which is available as well).

Like any standard Bluetooth accessory, the car has a range of 30 feet and is said to last 3 hours using 3 AA batteries.

Now here is the catch: they needz monies to support this project, a number to the tune of $200,000, of which they’ve already raised a bit over a $2,500 in their first day. Interested? Wondering what dropping a bit of cash on this will get ya? For $59 you get an R/C car of your own, or if you’re feeling a bit more free-wheeling, higher pledge values will get you added swag like shirts, wrist bands, or (if you’re willing to really invest) multiple cars and an Android phone to control everything with.
