BlackBerry PlayBook updated to v1.0.7 [Updated]

BlackBerry PlayBook owners have reason to smile this afternoon, as RIM has announced that a software update is available for its first tablet. Available for download OTA, BlackBerry Tablet OS 1.0.7 includes not only bug fixes, but several new features as well, including:
- Enhanced Support for Saving Attachments
- ZIP Attachment Support
- Portrait Support in Pictures App
- Pinch to Zoom in Video app
- Fifteen additional languages, including Basque, Catalan, Czech, Danish, Galician, Hungarian, Bahasa Indonesia, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese Brazilian, Portuguese European, Swedish, Turkish, Romanian, and Russian.
In case you’re wondering, no, native support for calendars, email, and contacts are still missing from the PlayBook. Oh, well. What’s another few months waiting?
UPDATE: We’ve received multiple reports that the update is no longer available, leading us to believe that RIM has pulled it. Why? We don’t know, but will let you know when we find out.
UPDATE 2: RIM has made a statement that some users experienced issues with BlackBerry Bridge after applying the update. The company expects to release an update with a fix “later this week.” Click here for more info.
