Developers ditch Android in favour of iOS
Consumers might have a hard time deciding between Android and iOS, but according to some new research by Flurry, app developers don’t — they pick iOS. From Q1 to Q2 2011, the number of new project starts for Android dropped from 36% to 28% (down sharply from its Q4 2010 peak of 39%), while iOS saw a rise in new project starts, going from 64% to 72%. These figures can be attributed to two things: the release if the iPhone 4 on Verizon, and the continued world-wide success of the iPad, which now has 100,00 native apps in the App Store.
