On the day of a very contentious Annual General Meeting, RIM revealed that BlackBerry App World recently served up its one billionth download. The exact time the download occurred and the name of the application were not disclosed. App World, which launched in April of 2009, is available in over 100 countries and sees an average of 3-million downloads per day to both BlackBerry smartphone and PlayBook users. Currently in version 2.1.4.9, a beta of version 3.0 is expected to be made available shortly.
