Today at their long awaited conference over in Cupertino, California, Facebook finally confirmed what everyone expected: Facebook Video Calling is not only real, but will be powered by Skype; further extending on the partnership they formed a few months back.

The new system will integrate right into your personal profile and as long as the fellow user has installed the necessary software, your communications tab at the top right of your profile will update to show the “Call” functionality as seen below.

I have tried it out already and the call was solid. I look forward to using this as a more integrated system, than having Facebook open while I Skype.
