Wifi Joiner for Android Makes It Easy To Share Your Network & Maintain Your Password Privacy

I saw this as the “App of the Day” on Lifehacker a few days ago for all you Android fans. It is a really cool concept but, honestly, I only see it being a good download if the majority of people you know use Android devices…otherwise what’s the point?
Anyway, the name of the app is “Wifi Joiner for Android”. What it does is it shares your Wi-Fi Network information with a QR Code that others can easily scan.
Here’s how it works: You go into the app and generate a QR code for your network by selecting a Wi-Fi network already configured on your device OR you can enter in the SSID of a new network, then enter the password and WiFi Joiner for Android will generate the QR code for you. Once you have the QR code for you’re the network you can email it to yourself so you can print it out or just let the another user scan the QR code from your phone.
The other user who wants to scan the QR code will also need Wifi Joiner installed on their device (and Wi-Fi turned on).
The beauty of the app is that it eliminates the hassle of selecting the network and entering in a long and complicated password – also it avoids you having to give out a long, complicated password and repeat yourself five times so it is understood. Beyond that, the app keeps your password private (you can even encrypt the password when you create the QR code).
The developer of the app, one Vashishtha Jogi, also made a handy website where you can generate a QR code for your wireless network if you already have it all set up on your device and don’t need to do it on your Android phone but would like others to setup this way in the future.
