Amazon to Enter the Tablet Computer Arena

In the world of tablet computers, the undisputed king (at the moment) is the iPad. Reportedly owning a staggering 82% or 90% of the market (Depending on which source you follow), Apple doesn’t have any reason to be uneasy for now (especially because next on the list is the galaxy tab with a pitiful 4%).
According to analysts, this will continue until about the year 2015. Well, keeping in mind that Apple was recently granted a patent for multi-touch interfaces, which are used extensively on tablets, it could be a little longer.
An unlikely competitor, Amazon, seems to think they have what it takes to challenge Apple. They’ve already found some success with the Kindle, but they want to release their own tablet computer – and it could come out as early as August, forecasting 4 million adopters of the platform. Quanta Computer will be assembling the tablet and it will feature a Texas instruments processor. Amazon shouldn’t be underestimated, as they might be to blame for the demise of some multimedia and book stores.
