Bell announced today that it will be turning on its 4G wireless broadband network in Saskatchewan next week. This means that they will be offering 4G wireless speeds and the 4G smartphones plus their other data devices to all customers in Saskatchewan.

Wade Oosterman, a man of many hats who is the President of Bell Mobility, Bell Residential Services, and is also Bell’s Chief Brand Officer had this to say about the launch: “Bell Mobility is enhancing competition in the Saskatchewan wireless marketplace and greatly expanding choice in mobile services for consumer and business customers. With extensive high-speed mobile Internet coverage, leading services like Bell Mobile TV, and exclusive superphones and other mobile Internet solutions, we’re offering Saskatchewan customers the best devices on the best network.”

When the network launches next week, Bell will offer coverage to more than 98% of Saskatchewan’s urban and rural population. The Bell 4G network will allow for mobile download speeds up to 21 megabits per second (Mbps) and typical speeds of 7 to 14 Mbps.

Bell Mobility is also in the midst of completing construction of two brand-new Bell Stores in Saskatchewan. One at the Midtown Plaza in Saskatoon and the other at the Southland Shopping Centre in Regina. The new Bell Mobility products will be available at these new stores as well as at the usual Bell authorized dealers and The Source locations.

I find it amusing that Bell is launching competition with broad coverage… blah blah blah… on SaskTel’s network… why not just sign-up with SaskTel?

  2. Kel says:

I was hooked by Bells new 4g phone signed a 3 year contract and now wish I’d have just gone with Sasktel.
My new phone the Samsung Galaxy S 2 doesn’t hold a charge for more then 20 hours even on stand by and all extras off.
I don’t receive a reseption in my own home and after several calls to service am told it’s due to Bells setting up new towers throughout Regina.
Bull Crap theres no new towers going up there just renting lower bandwith from Sasktel and passing them selfs off as competing.
Save your money or better yet pay a little more hook up with Sasktel get the Iphone 4G and send Bell a message. Your not going to be fooled like I have been.
