Just saw this news come across my Twitter stream from the Handmark Twitter account:

“Android peeps! New #TweetCaster 3.1 available! http://t.co/YADuycd Fixes trending topics, integrates new Twitter privacy settings.”

So Plume was updated yesterday as I told you earlier today and now it looks like TweetCaster has gotten the update too! Unfortunately, as of right now TweetCaster is not showing up in my browser on my PC as being updated to version 3.1 but when I went to it in the Android Market on my device it was the updated version. This app is billed as the #1 Twitter app for Android and with almost 181,600 reviews and an average rating of 4.4/5 stars, I would say that a lot of people clearly think it is one heck of an app!

The app is available for free or you can get the TweetCaster Pro version which eliminates banner ads.

“Recent changes” according to the Android Market posting of the app include (and I am going to count this as the ChangeLog):

- Allows refresh of Trending Topics.

- Allows refresh of searches.

- No longer allows RT of tweets from protected accounts

- Updated to Twitter’s new account authorization page for improved privacy and security.

- Bug fix related to auto-complete of @usernames when composing a tweet.
