iMessage Causes Trouble for RIM Stock

iMessage, was unveiled earlier this week in the WWDC keynote – it sports many of the features that Blackberry Messenger does, which includes notification when someone has received and read a message you sent, among other things.
“iMessage” might look like a ploy to cut into BBM service’s dominance but it seems to have worked already: RIM’s stock has been hit, once again. According to The Economic Times, “Apple’s iMessage took its toll on the BlackBerry maker Research In Motion (RIM) on Tuesday when its stock sank below $37 - the lowest level since 2007.”
With iCloud for free and the promise of most features that made Blackberry unique and the preferred phone for businesses, it seems that RIM should have spent more time on its phones rather than the playbook. Because I’m Canadian and RIM is a Canadian company, I’d really like to see it thrive but, as it stands, they seem to be in a lot of trouble these days.
