Ok, I’ve heard of some pretty weird things when it comes to fan-boys and what they are willing to do to get their hands on new devices, but this story pwns’em all; here’s what happened. A 17-year old - who hails from the Anhui province in China - was willing to sell his kidney for 22,000 yuan, or about $3,400 US, just so he could afford to buy an iPad 2. The Shanghai daily interviewed the boy who had this to say: “I wanted to buy an iPad 2 but could not afford it, a broker contacted me on the Internet and said he could help me sell one kidney for 20,000 yuan”. Supposedly the child and broker arranged the procedure without his parents knowledge and underwent the procedure at a Chenzhou hospital. Needless to say when the boys parents caught wind of the deal, they were livid, but unable to locate the broker who organized the transaction. Even more? Turns out the hospital that performed the procedure weren’t even qualified to do it; the administration claims it was not aware of what was happening because the department that performed the surgery was contracted to a Fujian businessman. The boy also stated that he regrets doing what he did.
